Traditional French restaurant, food and tableware are very particular
We thought the food was amazing, we were in Brantome the previous night in a Michelin starred restaurant, the food here is as good, if not better. The service was excellent, we'll be back for sure one day.
Fantastic food. Great, friendly attentive service. Outside space is would do with a little tidy up. Looks onto hotel car park. With modest effort could be landscaped to be a lovely setting / ambience to match the food and the service.
We, a couple, were made welcome and the service was good. The food was nowhere near as good as expected. It was lunchtime and we chose the Menu du Jour, the entree being grossly overcooked until it had lost its consistency. For my main course I chose an Aberdeen Angus steak, with delight to find the breed here in France. Whilst it was correctly cooked it was extremely tough, almost impossible to cut let alone chew. I naturally brought it to their attention. Another was cooked but barely better. I wondered how long it had been hung? Both were very poor examples of the normally delicious Angus. What a pity. I evidently hadn't enjoyed my meal, but nothing was offered to recompense.. Do they need to look again at their source of meat? What a shame, hugely disappointed at a restaurant which was otherwise well reviewed. Chris B. Deux-Sèvres
We were really enthusiastic by the warm atmosphere of the restaurant, with its beautiful cheminée. The most important is the refined and original cuisine with subtle tastes and careful presentation.
